Philippines Independence day

On July 4, 1946, the United States lowered their flag and raised the Philippines flag, during their Independence day ceremonies. The United States granted Independence to the Filipino people. The date was chosen by the U.S., because it corresponded to U.S. Independence day, until 1962.

Later, it was declared that June 12, would be the official Philippines Independence day and July fourth would be known as “Philippine Republic Day.” Let’s celebrate the Filipino people and their Independence by saying, “Happy Independence Day” on June 12, 2019.
