Our Hawaii visit pt.1

After touchdown, we take a taxi and head to the hotel. What to do next?

We checked in and changed to more appropriate clothing (shorts, T-shirt, and some slippers). We drop our bags and head back down to the lobby. A couple of steps away from the elevator and we’re on the streets of Waikiki.

This was our first time as a family here and it already felt like home. Sun was out and the breeze was keeping us cool. That’s my first impression of Hawaii’s weather. It was a perfect combination, I loved it!

The first look at the shops, the restaurants, the hotels, the clean streets, the green grass, the coconut trees, the colorful flowers, the birds, the beautiful sky, and I knew I was really in paradise.

We walked around, amazed on how beautiful it was and how they’re was so much to see, only steps away from the hotel. Everything was open, so you can enjoy the Hawaii weather while you shop, eat, sightsee, and just enjoy a walk. It was amazing and we haven’t even seen the beach yet.

There was so many shops like Louis Vuitton, Prada, Billabong, Quiksilver, small Hawaiian shops, and much more. It was an outdoor mall a few blocks in every direction. It was awesome! They had tattoo shops, ice cream shops, scooter rentals, bike rentals, tour busses, and people walking with their surfboards. It was a true island style tourist environment.

We then head back to the hotel, still being tired from the flight and the time difference. It was six hours behind Eastern Time zone so that made it close to midnight. After getting back, two of the kids wanted to swim at the pool, so I took them for a little swim.

After swimming my son and I, go downstairs to see how the streets and scenery look during the night. It was dark out, but no later than 8pm in Hawaii and the streets were still filled with tourist and locals. It was much alive at night as it was during the day.

We decided to call it a night, so we planned to go shopping and see the beach the following day. Because we’re still drained from the flight, the kids just wanted to relax for the rest of the day.

The kids watched T.V. as they laid in bed, while my wife was already asleep. We were all tired from getting up early to be at the airport, as well as the long plane ride, which was hard to sleep comfortably sitting up. We get to stretch our legs and be comfortable, it didn’t take long to fall asleep.

To be continued…
