If there was one ice cream, I can only choose for the rest of my life, it would be Ube ice cream from Magnolia.
Ube, is sweet purple yam, its a unique flavor. It’s smooth, silky, with a mild sweet flavor, that I love. It’s a flavor tons of people are talking about and enjoying, its my favorite ice cream. I love all things, “ube.”
This ice cream comes from the Philippines, its one of the popular flavors. The flavor is not for everyone’s palette, but a flavor I crave for. Some would think, a purple yam ice cream sounds weird, but it has a smooth, creamy, and rich taste. It has a variety of combined flavors, such as, Ube with macapuno (Ube ice cream with coconut chunks).
It is sold in most asian international stores and is expensive. They range from $9.00-$10.00 for a 1.5 quart. A little over priced than an american ice cream, but well worth it. They run out fast and often is hard to find. They’re other flavors from Magnolia, such as, Mango, Taro, Thai Tea, Avocado, Lychee, and Guava to name a few. I will leave a link below to Magnolia’s website.
Lately, I’ve made a milkshake which is tasty, I’ve also made it as a crepe, its Ube ice cream wrapped in a pancake, drizzled with chocolate syrup, topped with whipped cream, and almonds. Makes my mouth watery talking about it.
You can also get bubble tea in Ube flavor as well. They have Ube flavored roll cakes, which is delicious (highly recommended), Ube can be eaten in variety of desserts, you can make several concoctions of treats with this flavor.
I recommend you try Magnolia’s Ube ice cream or one of their other flavors. As for me, I’ll be making an Ube ice cream milkshake to enjoy. Thanks for reading!
